A super delicious, hearty Czech klobasa and cabbage soup. Just the right amount of tanginess from the sauerkraut and saltiness and fattiness from the sausage. You will definitely be going back for seconds with this soup.
Give this easy recipe a try!
4 servings:
Ingredients:
1 onion
150 grams klobasa (smoked sausage)
300 g sauerkraut
2 tablespoons of sweet paprika
2 large potatoes
1 tablespoon of caraway seeds
1 liter (about 4 cups) water
1 bay leaf
1 beef bullion cube
parsley
salt and pepper
Procedure:
Chop the onions and klobasa and fry in some oil or lard in a large pot.
After a few minutes, add in the paprika and stir. Add in the water.
Add in the rest of the ingredients: chopped potatoes, sauerkraut, caraway seeds, bay leaf, parsley, and bullion cube. The water should cover the vegetables, but the overall consistency should not be too watery. Add more water if the ingredients are not covered. Salt and pepper to taste.
Let cook until the potatoes are soft (about 25-30 minutes).
Serve and enjoy!
Dobrou chut'!
